Busy Times

While we are busy in the winery getting our Pinot Noir ready for bottling and very excited to be releasing a 100% new oak pinot which has a lot of potential, which you will just have to wait till later in the year to taste!!!

We are even busier in the vineyard as veraison starts the birds come flying in in their flocks. We have the bird bangers firing and the nets going on to try and keep the little devils away from their dessert. The hardest thing about this time of the year is fruit thinning, where we go through and reduce the crop on each vine, seeing the fruit lying on the ground is hard but this is very important to maintain the quality we strive to for.

For each bunch of grapes we take off we lose a glass of wine, but the flavour goes into the next glass!

2010 White Wine Bottling

On Friday it was very exciting to bottle our 2010 white wines. The quality and intensity of the wines this year is amazing.

The wines will be released in March to give them time to bounce back after bottling (bottle shock). Wines to be released are:

  • 2010 Free Run Sauvignon Blanc
  • 2010 Pastime Pinot Gris
  • 2010 Runaway Riesling
  • and for a fist time a 100% barrel fermented Chardonnay, the 2010 Corner Post.
